Connections
I’ve been thinking about…
…connections.
After years of avoiding social media and blogging, I’m discovering the joys of connecting with old friends and meeting new.
Last week we asked for “followers” to share grandparent names — those that they called their grandparents and/or those that their grands call them. This outreach has generated wonderful responses with names from around the world and pet names from families.
Thank you to all who have sent in names! They will appear in the grandparent books. We hope that more of you will send your special names!
I also want to thank all who have bought the books. It is so gratifying to hear that your little ones are enjoying the stories, and Jo Ann’s amazing illustrations. Aren’t books the most marvelous connector?!
One very special connection arrived in my email box this week from a friend from many years ago — connected as she says by “our generation, our idyllic hometown and our faith.” Leslie had ordered personalized copies of Little Children, BIG Feelings for her grandchildren and her sister’s grands. My heart smiled hearing how the children loved the book — even the 16-month-old!
“She was mesmerized! She was fascinated by the beautiful balloons especially but listened to every word from the beginning to the end of the book. “
I’ve been asked what ages the book appeals to, and now can say even a very wee one enjoyed the book!
Leslie also shared a precious connection. She had a baby card John and I sent 36 years ago with congratulations on the birth of her son. The son is now father to her 3 darling grands. She taped the card in their copy of Little Children, BIG Feelings — a wonderful reminder of joyful connections over generations!
You may have seen this story. She shared it on…Facebook!
