Attention to Standards

Note: An Author Visit augments classroom curriculum and is not directly linked to Common Core Standards. However, as a teacher, I am aware of CCS and that awareness influences how the books are introduced and presented as well as responses to questions and discussion.

Anchor Standards:

  • Reading: Text complexity and growth of comprehension

  • Speaking and Listening: Flexible communication and collaboration

  • Language: Conventions, effective use, and vocabulary
