Guide students through brainstorming memories of a moment of high excitement, anticipation, and expectation.
Generate words that capture the BIG feelings in that moment.
Guide students through an outline of the stages of the story and link to the feeling at each point.
Product: Students will have an outline with the robust details that can be polished into a short story.
(Students are encouraged to use graphic images to capture their story. “I used a balloon to express the little girl’s emotions. What might you use?”)
