“Books are a uniquely portable magic.”
~Stephen King
Dr. Ruddiman was recognized during a presentation at the New Jersey Association for Gifted Children annual conference by Jeanne Muzi, a former teacher, 2009 NJ Teacher of the Year, current administrator, and member of NJAGC. See photos from her presentation!
Fellow GT teacher and colleague Anne Marie Hughes attended the conference and shared:
“Jeanne was talking about how to make your school a ‘thinking school’ and how (Dr. Ruddiman) inspired her around the topic of inquiry and helping students become thinkers!”
Jeanne Muzi also shared with Joan:
“You planted the idea (in me) of gifted education as a lever for whole-school improvement in me over a decade ago… that idea continues to drive my work and positively impact students today!”
New Activity!
Old-fashioned homemade white candy-coated sugar wafers are a nostalgic treat that you can’t find in stores. They are simple to make and elegant enough to share. Take a walk down memory lane with cookies like grandma used to make!
I’ve been thinking about…
…Tulips!
Daffodils get all the love for being the early spring bloomers, but for me, tulips take center stage. They arrive with a range of colors and move from bud to bloom in a delicate performance that transforms the world from winter to spring.
Maybe because it was such a snowy winter, or maybe because I am enjoying this annual show for the last time with this garden, that my dozens of red tulips look particularly beautiful this year.
