I’ve been thinking ….

…about teachers.

In particular, I am thinking about elementary school teachers. I think they are amazing.

Consider that they teach ALL subjects! I was and still am a reading/language arts teacher to my core. Please – no math! I could teach history — happily. Science is fascinating but teaching science demands working with “stuff” — like artisans with loads of hands-on equipment.

Elementary classrooms are filled with projects orchestrated by clever teachers who get their students moving to a whole new beat. It is a wonder to see.

Teachers are not interchangeable parts — and we know it! Elementary teachers love what they do, as I loved teaching those quirky tweens and teens.

That’s why this website offers activities created by an elementary school teacher! As the “word” person, I have discovered the joy of writing books for children. But from the start, I reached out to an expert to provide activities for that younger crowd.

This month, Teacher Jayne offers another clever hands-on activity that stimulates multiple parts of a child’s brain.
